On March the 13th in 2015, "Alastair John Godden celebrated his 83rd Birthday" with beverages, cake and presents, and after serious thought Alec has decided to enjoy a little of his retirement. The year 2014 started with a long hospital stay followed by an extended recuperation which gave the artist time for sober reflection and thought. (Not to mention the creation of a canvas or two)
But like a real man AJ was back out in the shop and like most obsessed artists he wanted to complete the three pieces he had started in 2013 before the accident, and now this year, these masterpieces are completed for his admiring art connoisseurs, before hanging up his welding-mask.
Here the artist Alec Godden is pictured with Mr and Mrs Keith Saunders of Rassaun Steel, who are taking possession of a Red Tailed Hawk at the artist's studio in Renton.
The next picture is the head of a Wolf as only Alec could imagine it; originally this was to be a full sized animal but Andrea a close friend asked the artist to down scale the piece for an early retirement this spring.
Last but not least a solid stainless steel, golden bronze colour sundial for Pierre a customer from Paris.
